MINUTES:
Minutes from the previous meeting were not available.
Due to Hurricane Irene in August, secretary Lynn Markus� car
trunk sustained flood damage and the minutes were destroyed.
REPORTS:
Director�s Report:
NLS has had
several meeting on the topic of raising money from member libraries.
Joe Maters gave the report of NLS� Proposed Fee for 2012 and
2013. We will have a
decision to vote on at the next board meeting.
Assemblyman Thomas Kevitt visited the library.
Our Director, Susan Quinn, hosted a Library
Directors Luncheon.
Summer Reading Program was well attended with craft
sessions, an arts program, a visit from the staff of Green Meadow Farm,
and a pool party.
Circulation has increased from 1900 in 2009 to 2254
in 2011.
Construction for Media Center is progressing.
Library was closed Aug. 29 due to Hurricane Irene.
When it was re-opened many residents came to use Wi-Fi, the
computers and re-charge devices and themselves!
Many residents were without power service.
Two new staff members joined the library-Janet Milo
and Catherine Quinn.
Annual Book Sale will be held Oct. 1.
Rain date Oct. 2.
Budget Control Report:
The budget should be at 25% at this time.
All line items were within that range.
The Village Accountant, Virginia Masterson, will attend the next
board meeting to explain the reporting system.
Open Time:
Carla Strauss reported there are many volunteers
for the Book Sale. She also
brought up the lack of space for a display case.
The Library Board went into a Closed Session.
